Chandra

Chandra has dedicated a significant amount of her ten years of learning and teaching Yoga to the study of Yoga Nidra.  She turned to Yoga Nidra when she was confronted with an inability to move or sit conformably while healing through her second back surgery.  She has helped hundreds discover for themselves that Yoga Nidra can benefit a wide range of needs; relief from insomnia to deep spiritual healing. Her love affair with the practice is contagious - it can be done by anyone; sick, tired, stressed, antsy, anxious, injured, pregnant, etc., and the benefits of authentic deep relaxation are noticeable! She often jokes that it is  'lazy man's yoga', and describes it as 'an experience better than your hammock'.

Now teaching movement classes again, she continues the practice of Yoga Nidra and contributes it to the expediential growth she is experiencing in her physical and spiritual practice. Chandra teaches at Concordia University and Exhale, is on the board for Street Yoga, and coordinates sustainability efforts at Portland Public Schools. She is also working on a Yoga Nidra CD and Yoga Nidra teachers training for September 2010.
